Start of Summer: Summary of the 2023 Spring Tea Harvest
For tea-producing areas below 1500m in elevation, the spring tea season is nearing its end. This year`s tea production went smoothly, despite the highly variable climate. From April 1st to the end of April, there were three days of rainfall, with the lowest temperature at the beginning of April being 13 degrees Celsius. The temperature peaked on the day of Grain Rain, an important tea-picking solar term for oolong tea, reaching 22.6 degrees Celsius. From Grain Rain until the end of May, there was only one day of rainfall, providing a much-needed breather for the hardworking tea producers. On the day of the rainfall, the temperature dropped sharply. Near the end of April, the temperature gradually rose, and the mountains were shrouded in heavy fog. Rain, cold > warm > rain, cold > fog > heat. This is the summary of this year`s spring tea. May 5th marks the Start of Summer, officially entering the hot summer season.
