ESG: Environmental Social Governance

Taiwanese tea is a gift to the people of Taiwan and to tea enthusiasts around the world who appreciate Oriental teas. This land of Taiwan quietly nurtures this wonderful flavor, and by savoring it, one can feel the tranquil Zen of the harmony between humans and nature, appreciating the land and climate. In order to help the sustainable development of the Tai- wanese tea industry, Puzhen Tea will adhere to the concept of ESG, making efforts to protect the environment and fulfill social responsibilities, bringing the beauty of Taiwanese tea closer to everyone`s life.

There are many plastic products used in daily life that can be recycled. In addition to the familiar “recycling symbol” printed on them, there is also the “plastic material recycling identification code” composed of three arrows. The “plastic material recycling identification code” is an internationally recognized plastic classification recycling symbol, consisting of three circular arrows surrounding an Arabic numeral. The numbers in the symbol range from 1 to 7, dividing plastic containers into 7 categories representing different materials. Each material has different uses, heat resistance, and recycling classification methods, making it easy for consumers to identify and enabling recycling companies to decompose and process them more efficiently. Today, let`s explore the materials and recycling methods of Puzhen Tea`s portable bottles to ensure more effec- tive plastic recycling!

Online shopping is really convenient. With just a few clicks, you can order online, receive and collect goods, unpack packag- es, and take out purchased items, saving time and effort. But what do you do with various cardboard boxes and packaging bags after unpacking? The more you buy, the more packaging materials accumulate at home. How should these online shopping packaging materials be handled to extend their usability or reduce waste? This time, we will introduce the relevant packaging material materials of Puzhen Tea and suggest ways to handle them.

In fact, the key to recycling lies in whether it has recycling value, which mainly depends on three key points:
Quantity: If the total amount of a type of waste is too small, it is difficult to attract businesses to deal with it, and it is diffi- cult to be used for other purposes due to the limited quantity.
Price: If the material price after processing a certain type of waste is high and economically beneficial, there is an incentive for people to recycle and process it; otherwise, it does not have recycling value.
Processing cost: If the waste is dirty, broken, or the material is complex (composite material), the processing cost will increase.

All of the above factors will affect the recycling value of waste, so besides correct classification during recycling, washing and cleaning up dirt during recycling can reduce recycling processing costs and increase efficiency and value of reuse.

Choosing products with minimal packaging, selecting environmentally friendly materials from eco-friendly businesses, cor- rectly classifying and recycling waste, and reusing items to reduce disposable waste are all choices and small actions that everyone can make. Accumulating these changes can have a huge impact on the environment. The next time you shop online, spend a little more time after unpacking to properly recycle what can be recycled and extend the lifespan of what cannot be recycled to create additional value. Let`s strive to contribute to the environment while enjoying the convenience and meeting our needs!

Inheriting and innovating – reproducing the past beauty is the mission and opportunity for Puzhen Tea. Full of passion for Taiwanese tea, “bringing the beauty of Taiwanese tea closer to your life” is the original intention of establishing Puzhen Tea and the driving force behind supporting entrepreneurship. After in-depth understanding of the Taiwanese tea industry, it was discovered that Taiwan has many teas that, like many animals in Taiwan, have gradually disappeared due to various reasons. There are several important reasons for this:

Labor shortage: For tea farmers engaged in traditional tea production, due to the lack of good sales channels, income is generally unstable. Against the background of the global tea industry facing the loss of young labor, the traditional tea pro- duction industry is facing a labor shortage.Loss of tea processing technology: With the migration of rural population and young people moving to cities, the land and technology of the older generation of tea farmers are not inherited, and the tea processing technology is lost.

Changes in demand/type standardization of tea production: In the past, when Taiwanese tea was prosperous in exports, a large amount of Shoumei white tea was produced for export. Later, the transformation of the Taiwanese tea industry entered a period of prosperity in domestic sales. Combined with favorable conditions, “Oolong tea” emerged, dominating the tea leaf industry. From the starting point of Dongding tea area to Ali Mountain, Shalingxi, Lishan, and Dayuling and other mountain peaks, different degrees of “Oolong tea” golden age have continued for decades to the present. Many main tea varieties of the export period have a significant decrease in output, gradually disappearing from the stage of the tea industry. Some teas were made in the same way as the tea-making methods of the past, but are now replaced by modern equipment instead of manual processes; some teas were once the “popular tea” at the time, but with the emergence of new market trends and changes in consumer tastes, they silently disappear from the stage of the tea industry.

Promoting Taiwanese tea is something Puzhen Tea thinks about every day. If there is a chance to reproduce the past beauty, it is even more significant for us. We are fortunate to have found a white monkey tea garden in Pinglin with a certain scale of pro- duction, and the tea master also has superb skills, allowing the characteristics of the variety to be brought into full play and creating an unprecedented, unforgettable white monkey green tea. White monkey green tea is fully hand-picked. Due to the small size of the white monkey tender buds, picking is very laborious. A skilled tea picker can only pick about 10 catties of tea leaves in a whole day, and then produce 2 catties of tea leaves, which is not easy to obtain. In terms of flavor performance, with changes in concentration, you can feel the floral and honey flavors of the variety, making it a dreamy masterpiece in the green tea industry. On the other hand, we also entrusted a master with decades of tea-making experience to reproduce the beauty of white tea. He said that although the white tea process seems simple, there is a lot of knowledge involved. Carelessness can produce white tea that looks like dry leaves, which is ugly in appearance and has no tasting value. In the past decade, as Taiwan`s tea industry has undergone generational changes and upgrades, many young people have entered the tea-making industry, injecting vitality into the tea industry. This not only allows existing flavors to continue for decades, but also allows lost flavors from decades ago to reappear!

Through this cooperation with Pinglin tea farmers, we hope to make Puzhen Tea`s tea products more diversified, improve tea quality, and also hope to inherit traditional tea-making techniques.
Inheritance is our gratitude to the past and our respect for the wisdom of our predecessors. Once, our ancestors created many wonderful traditional techniques for the wisdom of life and the beauty of art. In the years of running Puzhen Tea, we seem to be able to feel the pulse of history, and the efforts and wisdom of our predecessors, which makes us feel grateful and hope to learn and protect these historical treasures; innovation is our expectation for the future and our love for life. In this era of rapid de- velopment of modern technology, we have tools and possibilities that were unimaginable to our predecessors. We can integrate creativity on the basis of tradition and explore more exciting possibilities.

Taiwanese tea is a gift from the island of Taiwan to the Taiwanese people. Puzhen Tea is committed to keeping such beauty in our lives. Between tradition and modernity, we hope to find a new interpretation of Taiwanese tea, in line with the aesthetic style and pace of modern people, allowing the treasure of time to shine eternally new in the modern era.
